Abstract. Successful finishing in orthodontics: what the clinician should know.

The aim of the present clinical lecture is to describe how to finish correctly the orthodontic treatments especially in adults or after orthognathic surgical procedures.
The presentation will focus on the most recommended esthetic and invisible brackets, archwire alloys and sections, as well as clinical tricks to achieve the best outcome for the majority of our patients. Attention will be given to the working arch mechanics, use of attachments and elastics, with much consideration for the finishing and detailing procedures and tools.
All special pliers and various auxiliaries will be shown to solve the most common problems at the end of orthodontic and orthognathic surgical treatments.
