Presentation Description:
Delivery of complete, comprehensive, and predictable care, requires looking beyond the forms of the teeth, TMJs, face and airway when we evaluate and treat our complex, interdisciplinary patients. This presentation will review of the Bioesthetic principles and guidelines defined by Dr. Robert Lee, the Functional Occlusion orthodontic model described by the Roth/ Williams philosophy, and Face Airway Bite approach developed by Dr. G. William Arnett. The Postural Restoration Institute approach for Physical Therapy will be introduced as an important adjunct to interdisciplinary dental treatment. A wellness-based approach to diagnostics and treatments takes a team of dental and medical specialists along with adjunctive and integrative health care providers who share the same vision and goals.
Dr. Jeffrey McClendon, Dr. Michael J. Gunson, and Dr. Dara J. Chira and their physical therapist, Holly Spence will share their processes and experiences in treating a wide range of patients with dental, health and wellness issues. They will provide an overview of how each team member integrates their professional training and treatment philosophies to achieve neutral posture, dynamic neuromuscular function, and balance and alignment from lips and teeth to toes in their mutual patients. This presentation is the Tale of Three Cities and their Patients’ Transformations. Case reports of the “Lips, Teeth to Toes” approach will be given to illustrate this comprehensive and complete treatment of complex interdisciplinary patients.
