By air
Riga International Airport is located 15 kilometres from the city centre. Airlines which operates flights to Riga International Airport can be found here. Please check all available destinations depicted on the rout network map.
A taxi from the airport to the city center takes approx. 15 minutes and costs 11.38 EUR – 14.23 EUR.
AirBaltic Bus offers free bus service to airBaltic passengers travelling to and/or from Riga International Airport. The convenient bus service links the airport to the central bus stations in:
- Valmiera, Jekabpils, Bauska and Daugavpils in Latvia
- Tartu in Estonia
- Panevezys and Kaunas in Lithuania
Airport Express shuttle bus serves the route connecting Riga International Airport with hotels in Riga City Centre and Riga International Coach Terminal, and departs every 30 minutes; one way ticket costs 5 EUR.
Bus no. 22 leaves from Abrenes Street and has direct services between the airport and the city centre. Frequency 10 – 30 minutes, journey time to city centre takes about 30 minutes. A regular one-way ticket can be bought before commencing a trip at the airport services and tourism information bureau “Welcome to Riga” or bought from the bus driver (costs 1.20 EUR). A ticket for an unlimited number of trips is valid 24 hours from its first usage and costs 2.50 EUR. Additional information available here.
By road
Via Baltica, European route E67, crosses Riga from the south and north. The city is 300 kilometres from Tallinn, Estonia, and 260 kilometres from Vilnius, Lithuania.
By bus
International bus companies such as Eurolines, Ecolines and Hansabuss connect Riga with Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Germany, France. Riga International Bus Station is located at Prāgas iela 1, 500 metres from the central train station, east of the Old Town border and west of Riga Central Market.
By train
The Central Train station International railway connects Riga with Moscow, St.Petersburg, Vilnius, Odessa, Kiev, Minsk, Vitebsk. It is located in the city center, next to the bus station, just 5 minutes walking distance from the Old Town. By sea
Freeport of Riga is connected to Stockholm, Sweden by a direct ferry line.
AS Tallink Grupp operates regular daily ferry connections from Stockholm to Riga. The ferry terminal building is located at Eksporta iela 1, directly northwest of the Presidential Palace.
How to reach the conference venue
- Public transport. Riga city provides public transport services, including trams, trolleybuses and buses. There are 9 tram routes, 19 trolleybus routes and 53 bus routes. - Taxi. We suggest using Red Cab and Baltic Taxi cabs. Taxi tariffs are published on the passenger side door of each taxi cab.
