Call for Abstracts

BSCOSO 2015 Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts for presentations within the following topics:

Orthodontic Management of Growing Patients
Surgical Management of Growing Patients
Pre-Surgical Orthodontics
TMJ Based Orthodontic Treatment
Ultimate Aesthetics in Orthodontics
Orthognathic Surgery
TMJ Surgery

Abstracts can be submitted as free papers or posters
(see the description below).

Thank you for your abstract submission. The submission is now CLOSED. The notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent until February 26, 2015.

Abstract submission guidelines

All abstracts must be submitted using an online submission form no later than February 16, 2015. Abstracts submitted via fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
All abstracts must be submitted in English.
Abstracts are limited to 250 words.
The suggested order of your abstract: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
Do not include the abstract title or author information in the body of the abstract. This information will be added from the information submitted in other steps.
Use limited references (e.g. Smith 1999), only if necessary.
It is recommended that the presenting author’s contact details are used when submitting the abstract to avoid miscommunication regarding the abstract submission and review process. It is the presenting author’s responsibility to inform all co-authors about the acceptance/rejection of submitted abstract.
Multiple abstract submissions are permitted. After submitting your first abstract, please choose “New Abstract” and fill in information for your other submissions.
It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact in the abstract text will be reproduced as typed by the author.
Accepted abstracts will appear in the “Baltic Dental and Maxillofacial Journal” as submitted. Please ensure you check your data carefully before submitting as changes or additions will not be accepted after the Call for Abstracts closes.
If you have entered a valid email address you will receive a confirmation e-mail confirming the receipt of your submission. In case of any changes to your submissions, please contact Conference Secretariat at join@bscoso.com. Corrections will be accepted until abstract submission deadline.
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee and authors notified by February 26, 2015.
Abstract authors must register for the conference after their abstract has been accepted or advise us of withdrawal until March 15, 2015.
The best free paper will be awarded by the Organizing Committee of the Conference and announced during the Conference.

Recommendations and requirements for Authors

In order to ensure the smooth event, there are several recommendations and requirements for all authors:

– On time appearance. Please be prepared to come on stage sharply on time. Keeping in mind the strict line-up of speakers, there unfortunately will be no chance to extend your presentation. Therefore, should you be late, your presentation will become shorter respectively by the amount of minutes that you are late.
– Presentation timing. For the same reason, your presentation must not exceed the time allotment (please check it in the program HERE). As there will be no exemptions to this requirement, the moderators will be forced to stop you in the process of talking despite this is definitely the least thing they would like to do! The timer placed on stage will help you control your time.
– Presentation structure. Since the timing is strict, you may consider to structure your presentation to identify the main parts (aim & purpose of your study, methods, results/findings). Certainly, brief remarks and jokes are always welcome!
– Presentation format. Presentation slides will help the audience to follow your idea and therefore are an essential, required element of your presentation. You are free to select the tool for preparing the slides – acceptable formats are Microsoft Powerpoint, Keynote for Mac or Prezi (portable files, archived folder). The screen format will be 4:3. Your presentation file will be checked and pre-loaded on presentation equipment. Due to intensive agenda of the session, only the central computer on stage will be used, that is, no own computers will be allowed.

The presentation files must be submitted via e-mail at join@bscoso.com until 25 May.

Posters

The authors of accepted posters are kindly asked to prepare their presentations in pdf or ppt format. The poster presentations should be limited to 8 slides (24pts). Posters will be presented on Poster TV onsite (LCD screens) in Poster lounge area. All accepted posters will be published in the “Baltic Dental and Maxillofacial Journal” and uploaded on BSCOSO website.
