Traveling to Lithuania under COVID-19 and entry requirements

On this page we will provide all relevant information for our course delegates regarding travel recommendations and restrictions while visiting Lithuania under COVID-19. However, please keep in mind that we do not guarantee the completeness and accuracy of the information on this page. Although we are working hard to keep everything up-to-date, delays in changes can occur because the information is based on other authoritative national sources. Therefore, we will also provide the links to these external sources where you can find detailed and most recent information applicable to the citizens of certain countries. And of course, you can always contact us for questions and travel assistance (learn@bscoso.com).

Can I travel to Lithuania and attend the BSCOSO Course in person?

YES!

Lithuania welcomes citizens from all countries across the globe. Below we will provide information on entry requirements depending on your home country and if you are vaccinated/recovered from COVID-19. If you need more detailed information on current entry requirements, please visit the National Public Health Centre website.

Please note, that these requirements are mostly applicable if you are vaccinated with one of the confirmed COVID-19 vaccines (COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen, Comirnaty, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna or Vaxzevria) or recovered from COVID-19. Otherwise, participants from certain countries (especially red and grey zones) will be required for testing and self-isolation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry requirements are based on ECDC guidelines and are marked in different colours (green, orange, red, dark red and grey). For more details view here. Requirements by area colour can be seen below. Third countries (non-European Economic Area countries) that are not included in the ECDC maps are classified as grey area countries.

Please note that persons, who have visited one of the strongly virus-affected countries in the past 14 days before arrival to Lithuania, must do testing and self-isolate despite the exceptions displayed in the graph above. The list of these affected countries is available right here.

REGISTRATION UPON ARRIVAL

All persons, arriving to Lithuania by all means of transport, including by car, are obligated to register with the National Public Health Center not earlier than 48 hours before their arrival to Lithuania. If using air or sea transport, persons will be asked to show a proof of registration before the beginning of their trip.

Arriving from affected countries

Testing and self-isolation requirements will not apply in the case of:

  • Persons holding a document from a medical establishment confirming that they had COVID-19 (coronavirus infection) diagnosed on the basis of a positive result from SARS-CoV-2 PCR test or an antigen test and that maximum 180 days have passed of the positive testing until the return/entry to the Republic of Lithuania.
  • Persons holding a medical document, a country-specific vaccination certificate or an international vaccination certificate confirming the full vaccination with one of the COVID-19 vaccines (COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen, Comirnaty, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna, and Vaxzevria) administered under the vaccination schedule approved by the competent authority of the country where the vaccination was carried out.
  • These exemptions will not apply in the case of travellers who over the last 14 days before the return to/arrival in the Republic of Lithuania visited countries included in the list of affected countries whence arrivals fall subject to the enhanced communicable disease control measures, i.e. they will be required to have a negative test result and to self-isolate.
